 of the SIVs in Afghanistan, as of Aug 14th, 2021, have been evacuated.

Who can apply for a Special Immigrant Visa (SIV)?

  • Mostly interpreters who worked alongside the U.S. Military;

  • You must be a national of Afghanistan;

  • You  must have been employed in Afghanistan for a period of at least one year: 

    • by, or on behalf of, the U.S. government

  • You must have provided faithful and valuable service to the U.S. government,

  • You must have experienced or be experiencing an ongoing serious threat as a consequence of such employment.

Kim Staffieri

Co-Founder

Kim Staffieri is the Co-Founder of the Association of Wartime Allies (AWA) which offers a real-time, interactive environment in which SIV applicants receive real-time support for their US visa applications. Over the last 17 months, this group has grown to over 16,600 members. She is on a mission to save Wartime allies and their families.

Matt Zeller

Advisory Board Co-Chair

Matt Zeller is a US Army veteran. He is also Co-Founder of No One Left Behind, a Truman National Security Project Fellow, and an Adjunct Fellow at the American Security Project. He is the author of Watches Without Time (Just World Books, 2012), which chronicles his experience serving as an embedded combat adviser with the Afghan security forces in Ghazni, Afghanistan, in 2008.

Chris Purdy

Advisory Board Co-Chair

Chris Purdy is the Project Manager for Veterans for American Ideals program at Human Rights First. He has been a key leader with the Evacuate our Allies Coalition throughout 2021 to help save our Afghan Allies. Chris is a veteran having deployed to Iraq and is a member of the Truman National Security Project.

Kristen Babicki

Advisory Board Member

Kristen Babicki is an OIF/OEF Veteran and Nurse Practitioner. She is an expert SIV advocate, AWA team moderator and program mentor to other veterans and SIV applicants. Her tireless efforts have impacted countless lives.
